assad and Cs
------------------------------------------------------------------
Las Vegas - Starting out on the MLB board at Wrigley Field and tickling the Cubs with Javier Assad over the Braves. Assad has been on fire so far this season with four wins and ZERO losses. And more impressive, he is pitching to a gorgeous 1.49 ERA. Assad just faced the Braves in Atlanta, threw 6 innings worth of bagels and posted 7 Ks. Charlie Morton was the opposing pitcher on that day, and was ripped for 5 hits and 3 earned runs in just 3 innings.
Assad has been even tougher on the North Side, allowing only 2 earned runs over 22 innings for an invisible 0.82 ERA. And finally, Atlanta is gonna be dragging after playing two games yesterday and flying up to Chicago. Gimme the Cubbies for the money.
Now we dribble up to Boston for a look at the Eastern Conference Final. First lemme give you the results from the regular season. The first game in Boston was an overwhelming BLOWOUT as the Celtics (-13) squashed the Pacers 155-104. The Over/Under total was 233.5 and was an easy Over. The next game was in Indiana and the Pacers (+4.5) beat the Cs 122-112. The total was 244.5 and went low. The next two games were both in Indiana, and the Celtics (-7) posted a 118-101 W. The total was 249.5 and went low again. Then the Pacers (+3) squeezed out a 133-131 victory. The total was 246.5 and went way high. The final matchup was back in Boston and the Celtics (-8) picked up a 129-124 W. The total was 248.5 and went high. So, now, which way do we turn? Do you like Boston getting SIX days rest or you thinking rust? You like Indy coming in with Uncle Mo after beating the Knicks, or you thinking that the Pacers are gonna be drained? Looked at Boston coming off the Miami series, getting SIX days rest, then beating the Cavaliers in the opener 120-95. Easy win, easy cover. Indiana took SEVEN games to get past a New York team that had MAYBE two healthy players, MAYBE! The Celtics are totally healthy and should be able to roll in the opener. Gimme the Cs for the money, but we're probably gonna make it a medium to light play.
