big three 23

Las Vegas - On the baseball board, I'll see your Jacob deGrom and raise you a Brandon Woodruff. NO doubt that deGrom with his 0.71 ERA is the man, but Woodruff is spitting some incredible numbers as well. His record is just 4-2, but the last five starts have been sick. He's allowed only 3 earned runs over 35 innings for an invisible 0.77 ERA. And, and, 43 K's. FORTY THREE! Brew Crew is gonna rock this party and you can BOOK IT!!!

Bouncing on to the NBA hardwood, and thinking that Brooklyn's Big Three (Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving) is better than Milwaukee's Big Three (Giannis, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday). Looking at the regular season, the first meeting was in Brooklyn, and the Nets +4, covered the spot in a 125-123 win. The Over/Under total closed at 240 and went Over. The next two games were both at Milwaukee, and the Bucks (-2.5) posted a 117-114 W and the total went Under 242.5. Two days later, Giannis and his crew picked up another win as a -1.5 point fav, 124-118. The total was 242.5 again and went Under again. Note that Kyrie did NOT play in the first meeting at Brooklyn. In the second game, James Harden was a no show. And The Beard missed the last meeting as well. Throw in Harden's season scoring average, 24.6, and we're looking at a heap of trouble for the kids from Suds City. At -3.5, we gotta throw a few chips at the Nets.

For those who need some action at Belmont today, say hello to my horse guy, Martin Calia...Talk to us Marty...

We have a great day of racing at Belmont Park today! There are 7 seven grade 1 stake races leading up to the Test of Champions, the mile and a half Belmont Stakes. I put together a small $1 pick 6 ticket ( races 6-11 ) and a 50 cents pick 5 ( races 7-11).

Start off with the third leg of the Triple Crown, The Belmont Stakes. We had a 12-1 shot in Medina Spirit win the Derby and 11-1 shot, Rombauer win the Preakness. Is the favorite going to win the third leg of the Crown? If his name is Essential Quality he will. In the Derby, Quality was bumped out the gate but managed to recover to sit 6th about 5-6 lengths from the leaders on the outside. He made a move around the far turn making up over 5 lengths to move into contention. He finished 4th on a track that wasn't conducive to closers on Derby day. He probably ran the best race that day but didn't win. With only an 8 horse field and not a free for all going into the first turn, Quality should get a nice stalking trip from the #2 post. Trainer Brad Cox has EQ revved up for this test over the track known as Big Sandy and the mile and a half is right up his alley for the son of Tap it. Dropping a FULL Benjamin to win on #2 Essential Quality and a $10 exacta, wheel #2 with all. I'll also key the #2 on top with the field for a $2 trifecta and a $1 super. Oh yea, this is my best bet BAABBBEEE!!!

And now for all the rest...

Race 3... got #4 Dream Shake - Shake finished second to #3 Jackies Warrior in the Pat Day mile at Churchill Downs on Derby day. He sat off the flank of Jackies Warrior but could not get to him fighting all the way down the stretch. Now they cut back to 7 furlongs and Dream Shake should turn the tables on Jackies Warrior. Gimme $100 to win on #4 Dream Shake.

Race 5... Throwing down $100 to win on even money favorite, #6 Search Results. The Chad Brown trainee finished 2nd to the undefeated Kentucky Oaks winner Malathaat. Should win in this short field.

Race 6... Hard to beat trainer Wesley Ward on the turf with #6 Bound for Nowhere, but I also like #4 Fast Boat trained by Joe Sharp. So, it's #4 and #6, a $20 win bet on each.

Here's the $1 pick 6 for a cost of $24.
R6- 4/6
R7- 3/5
R8- 11
R9- 3/6
R10- 4/9/10
R11- 2

Race 7... The #5 Shedaresthedevil meets #3 Lutruska and it should be these too battling to the wire. I think trainer Brad Cox is going to have a big day and jockey Florent Geroux will go gate to wire. Got $20 win on #5.
For the 50 cents pick 5, use the above horses from races 7 thru 11. A small ticket which costs $12.

Race 8.... Thinking the #11 Blowout should blow by this group in the stretch. Taking a $20 win bet.

Race 9... No doubt the #6, Knicks Go, will fare better than the hoops team. It's $50 to win.

Race 10... The #4 Domestic Spending and #10 Colonel Liam dead heated for win on Derby day. Going to add #9 Gufo and play a $5 exacta and trifecta box, 4-9-10.

Good luck!!!
