Las Vegas - Winning! That's what Rhett Lashlee is doing in his third season at SMU. Lashlee took over the Mustangs from Sonny Dykes in 2022 and posted a 7-6 record in his first year/first time as a head coach. Last year, SMU improved to 11-3 and this season, they're 11-1 heading into the ACC title tilt. Like what Rhett has done on both sides of the ball, and with Kevin Jennings at QB, the offense is virtually unstoppable. Jennings has completed 196 of 294 passes (66.7%) for 2,746 yards with 19 TDs. He is a true dual threat as well, gobbling up 344 yards on the ground. And we can tell you that Clemson has trouble with QBs that can run and throw. Look at what South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers did last week against the Tigers. Sellers was 13 of 21 for 164 yards, but was a monster on the ground, gashing Clemson for 166 yards. Jennings can run, not as good as Sellers, but the combo of run/pass will be an issue for Dabo and his kids. Gimme the Ponies for the money.
