Las Vegas - Back to the Sweet 16 and we're gonna go three team 10-point teaser again. Start out in the South Regional down in Atlanta where we will grab Mississippi and bump the Rebels up from +3.5 to +13.5 points against Michigan State. Ole Miss might not have been on your radar, but any team that Chris Beard coaches is gonna get after it. Beard has had some problems off the court, but on the hardwood, it's all about winning. We understand that the Spartans have a Hall of Fame coach in Tom Izzo, but Beard has a gorgeous 280-120 lifetime record and brought Texas Tech to the Championship Game back in 2019.
Then we move to the Midwest Regional in Indianapolis and will take Kentucky from +4.5 to +14.5 points against Tennessee. You probably already know that the Wildcats beat the Volunteers twice, 78-73 at Knoxville and 75-64 in Lexington. Will the third time be any different? Sure the Vols might squeeze out a W, but not by more than 14 points. Why? We looked at Tennessee's last nine wins and eight of 'em were by 11 points or less. The only game the Vols won by more was against Wofford in the 1st round, 77-62. Just to put that in context, this was the same Wofford team that lost to Duke by 51 points. FIFTY ONE POINTS!
Close up shop with the late game in Indy where we gotta take Houston and slice the Cougars from -8 to +2 points against Purdue. Kelvin Sampson and the Coogs just win baby. They roll into the Sweet 16 on an amazing 15-0 run and have won a RIDONKULOUS 28 of the last 29. Purdue punched a ticket to the Sweet 16 with wins over High Point (75-63) and McNeese State (76-62). That's a SO WHAT in my book. Enjoy.
