verlander
Las Vegas - MINUS FIVE HUNDRED!!! What??? Been in this space, making odds for over 30 years, and have never EVER seen a baseball line at -$500. When we do our homework for each series, we're always looking at all the matchups, and tomorrow, it's Houston's Justin Verlander against Detroit's Daniel Norris. So, not really surprised at the price. Verlander is only 15-4 with a 2.81 ERA and 228 Ks in just 169 innings. On the other side, Norris is pathetic at 3-10 with a fat 4.64 ERA. With Houston posting the second best home record in the American League, and Detroit the WORST road record, would not be shocked if the line climbed even higher.
Back to this evening, and we're gonna rock the Cubs with Cole Hamels over the Giants. Yea, I hear you screaming. But Eck, Hamels has been potatoed the last two times out, allowing 12 earned runs in just 5 innings of work. UGLIFIED for sure. However, those two starts were on the road. Totally different story at The Friendly Confines. Looking at Cole's last four starts at Wrigley, he was nicked for only 4 earned runs over 27 innings for a gorgeous 1.33 ERA. And while he has only two wins at home, the Cubbies record when he starts is 7-2. San Francisco trots out Tyler Beede, and this kid has not won a game since July 14. And his last five starts have been BRUTAL, getting ripped for 40 hits and 22 earned runs in just 22 innings. YIKES!
